Obra Cremon

Cremon 1 stands in the heart of Hamburg's historic quarter, at the former port entrance. Its design is clearly inspired by the Haus der Seefahrt — the opposing building of traditional 1970s architecture — reinterpreting details such as the facade proportions, projecting oriels and slender lesenes (vertical elements that enhance the facade). The architecture seeks to harmonise with the historic surroundings in proportions, materials and volume, adapting to the urban context of the Altstadt and reinforcing the character of the entrance to the Nikolaifleet canal portal. Our CLARA sandstone — thanks to its uniformity and the colour of fine, dry beach sand — is a perfect fit, blending seamlessly with the classic building opposite.
